A partial halt is not a “halt”. That you all as longs keep adopting the short’s description of what happened is part of the problem with discussing what actually happened.
There is absolutely no indication, I’ve been going through various releases, presentations and court matters, that there was a futility finding. In fact, an interim review was only intended to be a safety review, not efficacy. If it were safety, and they found a safety problem, then to this day, the company would not be able to discuss safety in as positive a light as they do today. They’d be lying. Dr. Liau would then also have to be a part of that conspiracy, and as well, UCLA and all of the doctors and institutions that signed their names to the journal publication.
You stop enrolling, given the data they had in 2013, 2014 and 2015, in my opinion, because delaying the treatment of the placebo patients is harmful to them, and creating more placebo patients creates more harm. So they could not have restarted the trial. There is no way, in that context, that the FDA or any regulatory body would allow more placebo patients to be selected.
However, the regulatory agencies can not disclose the reason for that regulatory action as that would blow the trial. It would undermine the entire scientific notion of a blind trial to make any announcement whatsoever. And the company cannot know either. The doctors are not allowed to know. It cannot he explained, that kind of halt until the trial is completed.
Hence, why the various factual and legal circumstances appear to me to be the exact opposite of the theory presented by the shorts. And why, a bankruptcy would have been so fortunate for the hedge funds in the know...
And why the valueless assets would have been an incredible windfall.
That’s my opinion, and I’m sticking to it. But please say “partial halt” all longs... it was not a “halt”. An actual “halt”, and just ask anyone who invested in Juno who might have experienced that, looks completely and utterly different, to patients, doctors, the company, the institutions, the DMC, investors and to the world. A real halt is a very specific kind of event that really was not exactly the same as the “partial halt” here that had new patients still enrolling and starting their treatments.
People should not let the shorts dictate the terminology, and should not adopt it. That is what happened here and I think, unfortunately, as with all social media, spreaders of false information use innocents, and people who do not understand what is happening to spread false information. Just the discussion of “The Halt”, is false information. A partial halt is a bit of a more complicated and nuanced thing... where there is no announced safety issue, it has a variety of potential meanings, and it seems not always bad.
What is clear from the court record is that theories about a “futility” finding are not based upon any evidence, and are just suppositions stated confidently as fact. Sworn statements that would be crimes, suggest, in fact, that the shorts are spreading false information. After the true trial information is released, and even today, no doctor has suggested there was ever a safety issue. There is no actual indication that hyperprogression became a thing, and while there was great speculation about the taking of blood and white cells as possibly causing an issue, again, that is mere speculation on bulletin boards that people likely responded to, creating more chatter, but there is no indication that that was a safety issue ever either. Just false noise from shorts... to get longs talking about fake hypothesis for bringing down the price... fake news requires that sincere people believe it and discuss it as fact or as information they fear might be real...
That’s how they play people. That’s how they manipulate politics and markets. It’s hard to deal with, but the first thing is not to adopt their reasoning or language just because they sound like they know what they are talking about... that’s how people stopped taking vaccines and started heading to flat earth conferences.
